A radical question that you need to ask yourself regularly is, “What do I need to eliminate?”
Improvement is good.
Tweaking can be good.
Starting something new is good.
But sometimes the only way you will move forward is to ruthlessly cut away some thing, habit, or relationship and walk away from it forever.
And until you do it, no matter how much you tweak and improve everything else and no matter how many new habits, skills, and processes you pick up, you are going to keep being sabotaged by that thing that needs to be eliminated.
The ONE THING for today: What is the single most urgent thing you need to eliminate now? Do it!
Hint: What you need to eliminate may be something caustic and harmful, but it could also be that you are drowning in trivialities–just too much “stuff”. Time to get your scissors out!
