“In the 20th century, the United States endured two world wars and other traumatic and expensive military conflicts; the Depression; a dozen or so recessions and financial panics; oil shocks; a flu epidemic; and the resignation of a disgraced president. Yet the Dow rose from 66 to 11,497.”
_Warren Buffet, October 2008 New York Times op-ed titled “Buy American. I Am.”
There are a lot of reasons to be fearful today: A.I. destroying the human race, China’s rising dominance, the national debt, the war in Iran and Ukraine, just to name a few.
One thing is for sure; things are going to get worse, or they are going to get better. There’s little you can do about it except to trust God and be faithful where you’re planted.
The ONE THING for today: You will seldom know fully what God is up to in the world (or your life), but you can know God and that will always be enough.
And by the way, referencing Warren Buffet’s 2008 quote (see above), on the weekend that I wrote this post (September 26, 2026), the DOW closed the week at 51,828.62.
O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour our your heart to him, for God is our refuge.
