I recently read about how Joel Buckner, worship leader for National Community Church in Washington D.C. became a worship leader.
It all began when he was twelve. He recounts, “I ‘In Christ Alone’ by Michael English at my church and it made mamma cry.'”
His mother’s tears of joy and pride in her son started him on a path that lead to his life’s calling.
That story reminded me of Jesus and his mother.
For 30 years Jesus lived in obscurity and then one day he burst upon the scene with an amazing miracle and the world was changed forever. (Read about it in John’s Gospel, chapter 2:1-11)
Why did he do it? To make his mother happy.
Oh, and why did Mary make the big ask? Why she’d been a young bride before. She wanted the bride that day to be happy, that’s why she asked.
The ONE THING for today: The most amazing things can happen if you’re willing to do something just to make someone you love happy…even miracles.
