Run in your lane

Some of the best advice I’ve ever received was “run in your own lane”.

Staying focused on running in your own lane is chock full of applications. For example:

  • Focus on taking care of the things that are your responsibility; what other people do is their responsibility.
  • Unhealthy comparisons (comparing your weaknesses against another person’s strength) is…well, unhealthy.

However, staying focused on running in your own lane implies that you are own a track with other lanes, in a race, that is going in a particular direction.

The ONE THING for today: Look around you. If you have a tendency to being running alone or always running in the opposite direction it could mean you are a trailblazer, but it is more likely you are losing the race.
