You are living in the same time line as your great, great, great, great, great, great grandparents, and the same time line as Jesus as he walked the sandy shores of Galilee and the same time line that Caesar, Alexander the Great, Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel, David, Moses, Khufu (supposed builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza), Nimrod, Noah, and even Adam.
What this means is that you are a part of a long story that has been in progress ever since God said, “Let there be…”
What this also means is that God didn’t start over when you were born.
Don’t fool yourself that it is different now.
The ONE THING for today: You have an important role to play but it is still only a part—a very small part of a grand story that has been in progress for a long, long time before you arrived and it will continue long after you make your exit. Be careful when using the word new and be even more careful when brushing aside the old as if it doesn’t matter anymore.
