“What do you want for Christmas?”
That’s a question you hear a lot this time of the year.
But I’ve discovered that the longer Sonja and I live the harder it is for us to shop for each other. Honestly, we lack for nothing we really need. I have to pinch myself sometimes to see if I’m dreaming when I think how good God has been to us. And, besides that, as the years go by things are just not as important as they used to be.
But this meditation is not about what you or I want for Christmas, it is about what we desire.
I doubt that one more sweater or outfit or gadget or…whatever, is really going to make that big a difference. But what you desire, now that matters—for that is where you affections are and where your affections are is where your focus is and…
