This is a book that I can gladly recommend.
First of all, it deals with perhaps the most vital subject any of us could reflect on: God the Holy Spirit.
When we pray “the Lord’s Prayer” we are praying to God the Father which is hugely important. But the prayer is clear—”Our Father who art in Heaven.”
When we reflect on our salvation (the Incarnation—God come to earth) we are most likely to have Jesus Christ in mind, a most worthy subject. But remember, Jesus went away. Not only is he not in the empty tomb, he is not here period.
When we speak of God being active in the world and in our family and church; when we say that we sense God at work in our own lives, it is actually the Holy Spirit who is the “boots on the ground” for the Godhead.
Yet we so seldom ever think of Him and thus miss out on a richness and deeper dimension of living than we could.
Enter Chris Sustar and his excellent book: When the Natural Meets the Supernatural: Discovering the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit.
In less than 160 pages Sustar gives a broad and essential summary of the person of the Holy Spirit and what He does.
Consider this book a great introduction or primer on the Holy Spirit. It is written in such a way that anyone (Christion or non-Christian, Pentecostal or non-Pentecostal, clergy or laity) can benefit. It is easy to read yet well-organized and biblical sound, with numerous practical applications and illustrations to help you truly experience the Holy Spirit at work in your life.
