John 11:26 (NKJV) And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?
Ultimately, it is what you believe about Jesus Christ that most matters.
This is what Jesus meant when he asked Martha, “Do you believe this?” Martha already had an admirable belief in the doctrine of the resurrection (John 11:24), but what Jesus was asking her to do was to grow in her understanding and relationship with Him. He was saying, “It is commendable that you believe in the resurrection at the last day, but are you willing to believe that I—I, Jesus, am the resurrection and the life?”
Nothing has changed. What you believe about Jesus Christ determines what happens to you.
Jesus declared that he is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6); that covers everything for everyone forever.
Don’t just read your bible to find comfort and instructions on how to live—read it to find Jesus.
When you pray, don’t just pray to get things—pray to get more of Jesus.
When planning your calendar, spending your money, pursuing your goals, and forming your opinions—make sure that the paramount priority behind it all is coming to know Jesus better.
When pursuing success, happiness, prosperity and power—make sure that the paramount passion that drives you is knowing Jesus Christ better.
In the end, that will be all that counts; what you know about Jesus is the most important thing in life.
- The ONE THING for today: Knowing Jesus Christ is the paramount priority and passion of life; to settle for anything less is to throw away your life…for eternity without end.
Philippians 3:7-9 (NKJV)
7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him…
