Genesis 1:1-2 (NKJV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
Really it makes sense that God used formless stuff to create our world.
You and I do the same thing.
Go to a building site—you will find a hodgepodge of boards, metal, nails, sheetrock, wiring, and a dozen other things randomly stacked around the place with no apparent rhyme or reason.
Watch a chef whipping up one of his secret recipes—it’s the same thing.
Look at the colors on a painter’s palette—you’re not see a masterpiece there, but she does.
Why would you think God, who is the ultimate Creator, be any different?
- The ONE THING for today: Don’t allow the chaos and confusion and the brokenness and mess of this moment in your life worry you—that’s the stuff from which God makes new worlds and new masterpieces.
Mark 5:38-39 (GNT)
38 They arrived at Jairus’ house, where Jesus saw the confusion and heard all the loud crying and wailing. 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this confusion? Why are you crying? The child is not dead—she is only sleeping!”
