Start at the beginning

Genesis 1:1-5 (NKJV) In the beginning God

It is significant and appropriate that the Bible begins with, “the beginning”.

It is even more significant and appropriate that the Bible tells us the beginning began with God.

It can prove helpful to go back to your beginning and determine if God was in it.

Don’t go through another week of a bad job, or a bad marriage, or a bad whatever and do nothing about it. Go back to the beginning and ask yourself, “Was God in it?”

Examine your heart and motives; did you start that endeavor with the full presence and favor of God?

If you did and things have since gone south that could very well means that somewhere along the way you departed from the presence and favor of God (usually through neglect and/or outright disobedience).

starttodayToday must be the day you trace your steps back to the spot you began to drift and at that place—start over with God.

If you didn’t start with God, today is the day you must turn your situation over to God. Today is the day you determine to make a new start—doing what you do with and for God.

Today is the day your life stops being about what you want and starts becoming about what God wants. That is the only way things are going to improve.

Do it now; today is a day for new beginnings.

  • The ONE THING for today: Just because something did not start with God doesn’t mean it can’t end with God.

Isaiah 43:18-19 (GNT)

18 But the Lord says,

“Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. 19 Watch for the new thing I am going to do.  It is happening already—you can see it now! I will make a road through the wilderness and give you streams of water there.
