A complaint

It’s important to remember that most complaining results from feeling unappreciated or short-changed.   In other words, most complaints are focused on self (even when they are disguised by “taking up for someone else”).

But here’s the reality…

You will seldom get the recognition and appreciation you deserve. Just look around you. Observe all the heroes that labor around you every day—unsung and unappreciated even by you. Why would it be any different for you?

On the other hand, you seldom get the all you deserve on the negative side of the equation either.

Think how many times you’ve broken the speed limit (why would we ever complain about getting a ticket!).

Think how many times you coasted that last thirty minutes before “quitting time”?

Think how many times you’ve let God, family, and friends down counting on their mercy and forgiveness?

Need I go on?

  • The ONE THING for today: Keep your perspective. None of us get all we deserve on the positive or negative side of the ledger. Do what you do because it is right and because you love God and in the end, the Judge of all things will balance the books and truth be known, that is all that really matters.

James 1:12 (NKJV)

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
