Beware! Prosperity breeds amnesia.
String together a few days of sunshine and we can get offended if God brings a little rain.
String together a few weeks of enjoying three square meals a day and we begin to feel like it’s our due (never mind that millions go to bed hungry every night).
String together a few months of driving from point A to point B without any mishaps and then one day you have a flat tire and are stranded on the side of the road and find yourself scolding God for not keeping that nail out of your tire.
Sting together a few years of enjoying good health and you can take it so for granted that you’ll feel like God has betrayed you when you get a cold.
- The ONE THING for today: Prosperity is good and you should never feel guilty for enjoying it when God sends it; but when the One who gave chooses to take away—bless His name anyway; for the real and true blessing remains…the Blesser…not the blessings.
Job 1:21 (NKJV)
21 And he said:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
