Ignore the National Day of Prayer?

Ignore those misguided voices that cynically tell you that we should ignore the National Day of Prayer because there will be people from all faiths and religions represented at the events across our nation.

One day the king of Israel called a National Day of Prayer and all the prophets of Baal showed up along with one lonely prophet of the Lord God of the bible.

There was a whole lot of praying that went on that day, but the real God answered.

Nothing has changed; the real and only God will hear and answer those who pray for our country today.

  • The ONE THING for today: From whatever country you are reading this blog—pray for your country today.  You may be one lonely voice crying in the wilderness, but pray in Jesus’ name, and the real GOD will hear and answer.

36 And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”

38 Then the fire of the Lord fell…

1 Kings 18:36-37 (NKJV)
