- Mark 7:37 (NKJV) He has done all things well.
Remember, a masterpiece is the sum of many small efforts.
Everything can’t be a masterpiece. Only Jesus can do all things well (Mark 7:37). The best we can do on average is…well…average. After all, that is the meaning of average—what the majority of normal people do.
Don’t get bogged down in trying to do everything well today—some things are not worth the effort; average is OK.
What matters is the big picture. Cobble together a day of just “getting ‘er done” and it is amazing how many masterpieces are created.
You’re probably hear someone say, “How did they do that?” It’s simple—through not easy; they did a lot of little things faithfully over a long period of time.
Yes, a masterpiece is the sum of many small efforts. That beautiful work of art the world admires began in a backroom somewhere when someone was willing to get their hands dirty just doing the grunt work.
The baseball Hall of Fame is filled with the names of people who struck out way more times than they got a base hit; but they kept showing up, swinging the bat, giving it their all and…string together enough of those and one day you have a Hall of Famer.
The same is true for you…keep plugging along…string together enough average days and one day you’ll have created a masterpiece also.
