Friday's Financial Principle

Get your hand out of other people’s pocket

  • Proverbs 1:14 (NKJV) Cast in your lot among us, let us all have one purse—

If your plan for making ends meet includes someone else’s purse then you have the wrong plan.

It is not uncommon these days to have grown men and women still depending on their parents for financial assistance.

While we are so blessed to live in a society that insists that our leaders provide a “safety net” for people when calamity hits, the bad news is many people’s financial strategy includes the government’s purse all the time.

In the end, having a life-style that requires someone’s purse ends up putting you in bondage.

Downsize; cut back; clip coupons, pick up cans on the side of the road; work two jobs; whatever. But be committed to financial independence. Learn to live within your means and then you will discover the means for truly prospering over a lifetime.
