“Leaders typically don’t follow the crowd, that is unless they’re trying to escape a burning building.”

The individual is not supreme.
Crowds matter too.
There is no particular merit in not being a part of the crowd. The merit comes from doing the right thing whether the crowd does or doesn’t.
But never assume that the crowd is always wrong just because its the crowd.
Sometimes when everyone is running for the exit the building really is on fire and it behooves you to hoof it with everyone else.
The ONE THING for today: When the crowd speaks, chooses, and acts– ask yourself why. If it doesn’t make sense don’t follow, but if it does, have the humility to join the crowd.
