The mood of the moment

The essential ingredient here is inference, one of my favorite words. _Howard Marks, The Most Important Thing

*****

On any given day, the most important factor for getting anything done that involves other people is their mood–how they feel, their worries, fears, desires, and frame of mind.

Never mind reality–their mood is the reality of the moment.

Never mind what people should be doing.

Never mind what is best.

To ignore the mood of the moment is to derail the potential progress of tomorrow.

The ONE THING for today: Of course don’t compromise your core values, but understand first the mood of the moment before moving forward. To fail to do so is to experience the proverbial “shooting yourself in the foot.” You’re end up limping through the rest of the day and probably longer.
