Prayer: The Default

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. _Mark’s Gospel, Chapter 1, verse 35

*****

I find it highly instructive that Jesus prayed.

Before making important decisions, when tired, when faced with challenges and stress – his consistent default was to pray.

There is a lesson there for us.

Never see prayer as a wasted effort. That would be like saying that talking to your family and friends was a waste of time. Remember, prayer is a conversation and a prayer from a sincere heart is never ignored and your words are never wasted.

The ONE THING for today:

Do not stumble into prayer, make it the natural default of your life (like breathing), but when you do stumble, by all means pray.
