“Excellence is a form of deviance.” — Deep Change: Discovering the Leader Within by Robert E. Quinn
Beware of the normal.
“Normal” is not always all its cut out to be.
For example, it is amazing how the most horrific and dysfunctional behavior can soon become the norm and people get on with their lives as if this is how life was meant to be.
And it is equally amazing how the most extraordinary and outstanding behavior can quickly become the now expected norm and when you miss the mark or have an off day people are disappointed at what used to be considered an extraordinary effort.
One thing is for certain, it’s hard to make a difference without being different and with humanity’s tendency to quickly make the different the new normal, different is a constantly moving target.
The ONE THING for today: If you’re not constantly growing, innovating, and changing you’re becoming normal and normal is just another name for average.
