As you face 2020, it is certainly fine if you are optimistic, but keep in mind that optimism is never enough.
By an act of your will, you can shut your eyes and muster up optimism. You can think positively, declare authoratively your confessions and hope fervently for the best. But you and I both know that our best hopes and wishes and expectations can run amuck pretty quickly.
So, don’t pin your hopes for a great New Year based on what you hope will happen or even what you feel confident will happen.
The ONE THINGS for today (and 2020): Base your hopes and plans for the New Year based on what you know you will do no matter what happens.

Ella Wheeler Wilcox
One ship sails East,
And another West,
By the self-same winds that blow,
‘Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales,
That tells the way we go.
Like the winds of the sea
Are the waves of time,
As we journey along through life,
‘Tis the set of the soul,
That determines the goal,
And not the calm or the strife.
Excellent blog and poem!!! Blessings, Claudia
