In his day, the Apostle Paul asked a provocative question. He asked, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
Actually, the answer is: “A whole lot!”
The answer to this question is almost endless. For example, there are approximately eight billion people on planet earth right now. So, at least that many people can potentially be against you.
Matter of fact, you can even be against you! (How many people have you known who were their own worst enemy?)
Then there is the devil and all his cronies and that doesn’t even begin to number the animals that would like to eat you, or at least bite you, sting you and drink your blood or crawl inside you and live off all that junk food you’re eating. (I know, that brings up some terrible mental pictures.)
Paul knew this when he first penned those words. Matter of fact, Paul was very familiar with people “being against him” and he even testified to being attacked by wild animals. So, he wasn’t trying to be flippant or disrespectful, he was trying to make a point. And his point was…
When God is for you it really doesn’t matter who is against you, for in the end, God will get his way and you will get your say.
What this does is to release you to play offense. It’s nice to be liked, celebrated, and cheered. But at the end of the day, all you need to do is make one person happy and that is GOD—get that right and the rest will eventually take care of itself.
The ONE THING that is required to make God happy? Sincerely and truly acknowledge His only begotten son—Jesus Christ—as your Lord and Savior and He will take it from there (John 3:16).
Time to play offense today! Go for it, seize the day and dare to have big plans. God is for you and that is really all that matters!
Love it!! Claudia
