It has been said that all is fair in love and war; Jesus disagrees.
For example, Jesus had to call a foul on his disciples when their reaction to his departure back to Heaven was less than enthusiastic.
I have no doubt, that in their own way, they truly did love Jesus, but what they really loved was Jesus being with them, or to put it more exactly–what they loved was themselves.
