When Plans Change

Yesterday one of the keynote speakers for one of my important events called and asked to be relieved of his commitment; a conflict in his schedule had come up that was beyond his control.

Of course I relieved him of his commitment and harbor no grudge against him.  I understood.  That’s life.  Months ago, when he gave his word, he did so with the best information he had at the time.  Many months later new information came to light that changed everything.

The same is true in every area of life.

There are a few things you must do today—give your best effort and energy to that.  Withhold final judgment on the rest.

Whether it is a person, project, or your future plans, make no final judgment until you absolutely have to.

People can be redeemed, projects can become obsolete, and plans can change.

  • The ONE THING for today: What must be done requires your best effort; what might need to be done requires prayer.

1 Corinthians 4:5 (NKJV)

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.
