Replacement Theology

No, no, no!

I’m not referring to the debate over God’s plan for modern day Israel; I’m referring to all the stuff you are going to get for Christmas this year.

We all know that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus—God’s great gift to us.

But somehow, Christmas has a way of becoming as much about the gifts we get and give to others as it does about the Gift.untitled

There’s no need in me trying to make you feel guilty about it—it’s going to happen anyway.

But at least do this: For every new thing you get—give or throw something you already own away.  In other words, let every new thing replace an old thing.

  • The ONE THING for today: Traveling light requires discipline.

Luke 12:15 (NKJV)

15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
