John 11:24 (NKJV) Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
Whatever you do you must not fall into the trap that Martha fell into.
Martha had no problem believing in God’s “someday” plan (“I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”) but she failed to take into account that God had a plan for her “now”. She failed to understand that the very Resurrection and the Life was standing in front of her and in front of the tomb that held her dead brother.
Yes, in the sweet by and by things are going to be perfect; someday God is going to make everything right. This you can believe and find comfort in.
But whatever you do, don’t forfeit today. Today is a part of God’s eternal plan. Eternity is not out there somewhere, now—this day, this moment is a part of eternity. Or put another way, you are already living in eternity.
Therefore, no matter how grim, difficult, and seemingly impossible your “now” may appear to be, know that God is in your now—He is before you now. He is ready to take action now. The next step in his plan for your life is supposed to happen today.
- It may be a lesson He must teach you to prepare you for something coming your way.
- It may be a test to strengthen and perfect your character.
- It may even be a miracle that will completely alter your situation and the way you look at things.
Don’t miss it because you have resigned yourself to waiting on the fulfillment of God’s “last days plan.”
- The ONE THING for today: Jesus is standing before you—here and now. Will you dare to trust and obey him?
2 Corinthians 6:2 (NKJV)
2 For He says:
“In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
