John 11:21-22 (NKJV)
21 Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”
It is possible to be disappointed and still have faith and hope.
It is possible to be disappointed in what God has done and still believe in Him.
That is what Martha demonstrated.
Sometimes the best we can pray is: “Lord, I sure wish you’d agreed to endorse my plans and answered my prayers with the answer I wanted, but you didn’t and I am disappointed. But, that changes nothing about how I feel toward you—I believe in you and I trust you.”
- The ONE THING for today: It is one thing to believe after your miracle has come; it is another thing to believe even if you don’t know if your miracle will ever come.
Hebrews 11:39-40 (NLT)
39 All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. 40 For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.

Thank you for this post, Pastor. I needed this confirmation this week. I’m not just a terrible Christian.
