John 11:11 (NKJV) These things He said, and after that He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”
Don’t miss the important grammar lesson given in our devotional verse today. I am referring to the important difference between the plural (“Our friend Lazarus”) and the singular (“I go that I may wake him up”).
In other words, Lazarus was friend to Jesus and the disciples, but only Jesus was the resurrection and the life who can raise him from the dead.
We are so conditioned to do things but sometimes we’re on the journey to just witness things.
We are so conditioned to talk about what we have done; but really what we ought to be talking about is what Jesus has done.
- The ONE THING for today: I truly hope you have a productive day today, but don’t forget; often the most productive thing you can do is be careful to observe what Jesus is doing and share the good news.
“And you will be my witnesses…”
(Acts 1:8, Voice)
