John 10:20, 21 (NKJV)
20 And many of them said, “He has a demon and is mad. Why do you listen to Him?”
21 Others said, “These are not the words of one who has a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
One of the main reasons Jesus will have to rapture his church away is because the church is such a nuisance.
Like the healed-of-blindness man in this story, just you being here complicates things for people who want to reject and trash Jesus and His Church.
It would be so easy to insist that there is nothing to Christianity if there were no radically changed Christians hanging around to mess up the argument.
It would be so easy to deny the reality of Jesus Christ if there were not so many otherwise sane people walking around confessing to know him and love him—even to the point of dying for him.
- The ONE THING for today: As a Christian, you are such a nuisance. Keep up the good work; there are a few who will believe in Jesus and be saved and you will be the reason.
1 Peter 3:14-16 (NLT)
14 But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.
15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.
