Lessons Learned at a Truck Stop, lesson 1

With this being the season for travel and for frequenting truck stops and such place much more often, I thought I’d give you a little homework when you stop to refuel and refresh.

clawFirst assignment: find the machine that has all the cute little animals  that has “the claw” (you gotta say it slow – “the c l a w w w w”).

You know what I’m talking about. The “game” where you spend a dollar for the chance to drop the clawwww on top of your favorite stuffed animal and hopefully drag it out of its plexi-glass prison into your loving arms.

Now here’s the deal: the game is rigged (against you). Almost without exception, if you plan on dragging one of those little stuffed animals into your loving arms you are going to end up spending several dollars for a toy that cost the company who owns the machine pennies.

So even if you win what have you won?

There are so many applications for this important truck stop lesson. I’ll let you connect the dots on that. Just remember Truck Stop Lesson #1…

  • The ONE THING for today: If the investment for resolving an issue is not worth the cost then write it off and move on. You don’t have to win every time to be a winner.

 Proverbs 19:19 (NKJV)

A man of great wrath will suffer punishment;
For if you rescue him, you will have to do it again.
