You are not going to get finished.
Let me repeat that: You are not going to get finished.
The moment you get that building built you will have to begin maintaining and repairing it.
The moment you get there (wherever “there” is) you will have another place you need to go looming before you.
The moment you get your to-do list done you will have another to-do list to start working on.
The moment the whistle blows and you get to close shop and go home the clock is ticking down the hours and minutes before you have to head out for work yet again.
There is always one more thing you can do. There is always room for improvement; you can keep tweaking things till the end of time.
This is not meant to be a let-down; this is just life.
Learn to say enough for now. Or learn to say enough period.
Learn to disappoint the perfectionist that can’t get this fact.
Even God “ended” his work on the seventh day; he could have always done more, tweaked something one more time, added one more feature, and made one more color, but no, he said, “Enough is enough, I’m not doing anymore.”
- The ONE THING for today: You can live frustrated, harried, and hurried trying to “get finished” or you can learn to put a comma at the end of each day and pick up where you left off tomorrow.
