Too heavy to climb?

Genesis 35:2 (NKJV) And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments.“

Perhaps the reason you are not getting any traction with your life is that you were not designed to carry everything you’re trying to carry.

Going higher usually involves letting go of something that makes a lot of sense at the level you currently are.

The “next level” represents a higher quality of life but involves less of the lower quality you are currently experiencing.

Getting closer to God always involved burning up those things in your life that can’t stand being that close to God.

Moving forward, going higher, going to the next level, drawing closer to God—are they easy?  No!  Is it worth the effort and sacrifice?  YES!!!

  • The ONE THING for today: Develop your short list of those thing(s) you are going to have to let go of in order to go to the next level…then get to climbing; life’s too short for you to spend anymore time at the level you’re currently at (oh and by the way–no excuses, use the energy you’d waste on making excuses for doing something productive).

21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

2 Timothy 2:21 (NKJV)
