Don’t settle for just being faithfully effective

1203_lA lot of people are like the little toy drummers that were popular when I was a boy.  They are standing there beating away faithfully and effectively but the kids have already moved on to something else.  They will continue to bang away until the battery runs down.

There’s a lesson there.

Being faithful is not enough.

Being effective is not enough.

Like the toy drummer, you can be both faithful and effective but be left behind.

Remember, God will eventually put you in places of greater responsibility and risk that stretch and challenge you because he wants you to grow and develop into all He destined you to be.

  • The ONE THING for today: Don’t complain about all the overwhelming changes and challenges you find yourself facing; see it as an opportunity to trust God more and to grow more.

12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry,

1 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV)

  1. Thank you for your words today. In my prayer time this morning I was focusing on something that burdens my heart. Then I listen to a message and read your blog.
Both were a word for me today. Thank you and God Bless your words.

  2. Good morning Pastor – just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how timely this blog is for me.

    Thank you again!
