- Psalm 71:5 (NKJV) For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth.
Over the weekend my church honored the young people in our congregation that had graduated from college and high school. It was a wonderful experience to see the many bright-eyed and intelligent young people being honored.
I left the different events with a sense of satisfaction and a renewed hope for a better future for our world.
However, I also left thinking—“My! These kids are looking younger and younger.”
Those of us who are getting older and older know that the bright-eyed and hopeful graduates that are hitting the streets over the next few days have so much to learn. We understanding that getting a diploma is just the beginning. But I want to remind you (and myself) that age and experience are not necessarily the answer either.
If we are not careful, age and experience will cause us to settle into a rut.
It is my prayer that the young and hopeful (and inexperienced) graduates will inspire us older folk.
After all, they don’t know it can’t be done…and think how many times they have been right.
