This is the second most read blog I’ve posted–it is a good reminder…
- Isaiah 17:6 (NKJV) “Yet gleaning grapes will be left in it, like the shaking of an olive tree, two or three olives at the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in its most fruitful branches”, says the Lord God of Israel.
Scott McKain in his book: Collapse of Distinction records a conversation with a corporate leader he once had. The manager asked him, “Do you know why it is so easy to lay off factory workers?” When McKain responded that he did not know, the manager answered, “Because there are so many of them.”
Whatever you do, don’t get trapped in the “so many” category. Be different, stand out, do what you have to do to be in the top percentile.
It can be done. The same God that gave you a fingerprint that is like no one else that has, is or will ever live has also put in you a special difference that will distinguish you from the crowd.
Every day you live there is something that only you can do. Why else would God leave you in this sin-cursed world?
Believe in yourself.
Refuse to settle for being average.
Be one of those few “olives” that is at the top of the tree (Isaiah 17:6).
Be one of those four or five fruitful branches (Isaiah 17:6).
Do this for the glory of God, the betterment of those you love and for the satisfaction of making a difference and fulfilling your unique purpose in life.
You can do this.
Whatever you age, resources or current starting spot – you can do this.
And remember, the rewards that you will receive from this effort will be worth any of the sacrifices that you have to pay.
