- Luke 11:9 (NKJV) …seek, and you will find;
If you have not found what you are looking for—seek for it.
Hunger is God’s special gift to get us up and moving. If you are hungry for more, if you’re certain something is missing, if you suspect you were meant to live a far different life—seek.
Don’t seek a dozen things; narrow your focus; prioritize, and then like a rocket launch, devote yourself diligently, unceasingly, and bravely to finding what you’re looking for.
There are far too many people living out their days with a vague sort of feeling that something’s not right. From time to time they give a half-hearted effort at seeking to fill the emptiness and lack but soon medicate themselves with “junk food” and deaden the deep hunger pains for real substance and growth.
Don’t do that! Spend your days on a quest. Get up! Go! Seek!
One word of caution, Jesus’ words were not meant as a “success statement.” Jesus is not giving you the encouragement to seek for your dream darling, dream car, house, job, or whatever. Jesus is speaking of the things that really, really matter. Until you can answer that question, don’t waste your time seeking—stick to the junk food you’re already gorging on.
David, I enjoyed this! I keep printing your blogs off for Charles, at his request. He reads them and enjoys them as well! Love you, Aunt Bernice
