The ONE THING for today

You never eat alone…

  • Proverbs 17:6 (NKJV) Children’s children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children is their father.

I’m feeling better about myself since a recent visit to my heart doctor.

One of five “grands” that eat every meal with me

Three months ago my doctor, after warning me of the dangers of high blood pressure and how it would most assuredly endanger the quality of my life and also shorten my life, told me that he’d give me three months to lose weight and become more discipline in my exercise regiment or I would have to go on high blood pressure medicine (also not a good thing).

Thank goodness, after this recent visit I had lost more weight than he’d asked me to lose and my blood pressure was well within the limits he had set.  Results: no blood pressure medicine for me!

These motivations reminded me: I never eat alone—even when I’m eating alone.  988725_206732756175127_868154562_n

Whether it’s a cheeseburger or grilled chicken; ice cream or frozen yogurt; every time I sit down to eat my meal everyone I love and care for is sitting at the table with me and being affected by my choices.

The same is true for you…matter of fact, everything we do affects those we love and care for; we simply do not have the choice of living life alone…thank God.
