- Luke 4:22 (NKJV) So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth.
However, through I do not get paid by the word; I do make my living to a large degree by being a public speaker. In spite of that, a humbling truth is, I have come to realize that most of what I say will be forgotten. (I don’t take it personal, I forget most that I say!) 🙂
I know this is not original with me, but there is one thing I have learned: People may forget much of what I say, but they will remember how I made them feel.
Words are a dime a dozen. Matter of fact, we are inundated daily with an overload of words; but with all those words, think how scarce it is to leave a conversation feeling better than when the conversation started.
Like me, most likely you are not one of those rare people who actually get paid by the word, but oh the power and privilege it is to speak into people’s lives. Though they may forget most of what we say, let’s make sure they forever remember that we treated them kindly and graciously and gave them hope.
