This Time Next Year

At the end of twelve months. _Daniel 4:29

I’m not a prophet or the son of a prophet, but I am going to make a prediction: Twelve months from now something is going to be happening.

And if God gives you life, something will be happening to you.

Therefore, live directionally.

Live as if you’re going somewhere with your life.

If you do not get there today it doesn’t have to be the end of the world.  Yes today is important, but where you’re heading is even more important.

Things may be tough right now but this time next year it can be better.  Work towards that.

On the other hand your life may be as boring as watching paint dry, but this time next year, who knows?  Let that motivate you.

Or even worst, perhaps you’ve dug yourself into a hole that is so deep that you can barely see daylight.  Yes, decisions have consequences and bad decisions have bad consequences.  So perhaps you have a long hard  slog ahead of you because of some bad choices you’ve made, but again, this time next year things can look a whole lot different.  Stay focused on that while you slog away.

Starting today, string together 300 or so days of doing the little things that matter.  Make good choices, starting today.  Chip away at that debt. Peck away at that monumental problem. Dial down the drama and complaining and making excuses and get to work…on next year.

The ONE THING for today: In light of this time next year, what should you do today?  Make that your priority.
