The Road Traveled

“Sometimes the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason”

Jerry Seinfeld.

I like Seinfeld’s quote. It brings balance.

Following the crowd has certainly been proven to often be a terrible choice—but not always. The majority can actually be right sometimes.

And romanticizing the loner who insisted on breaking with the norms and plotting a new course can also be a disaster—there’s a fine line between being a disruptor of the outdated and being a destroyer of the essential foundations.

The real issue is finding the path that God has laid out for you. Sometimes you’ll be surrounded with a crowd of fellow travelers and sometimes you will have to walk alone.

But the important thing is that you’re traveling in the right direction with the ONE who never leaves you nor forsakes you.

The ONE THING for today: You have a path to travel, a journey to take, a destination to reach. You do not have travel alone. Jesus has promised to never leave nor forsake those who pledge allegiance to Him. (Matthew 28:16-20)

  1. Hello, Pastor Eric here in Winnsboro, TX, we have communicated back and forth for quite a number of years via this comment section. Some of your most recent posts have been very poignant and thought provoking. I also, remember from some years back you speaking about having a large collection of audio tapes of Dr. Paul L. Walker from Mt. Paran Church of God in Atlanta. of course Dr. Walker has since gone on to heaven, but knowing you were an afficianado of his preaching, using the term very loosely, I know you held Dr. Walker in the highest regards, The link below is to several mp3 recordings of some of his vintage work. I had to sit today in the service department of the auto dealership having work done on my auto, and as the minutes dragged by, and the snow flakes fell in northeast Texas, I listened to several of these. Wow how I miss my old pastor. BTW if you still have those audio tapes of Dr. Walker, the offer from years ago still stands, I am more than happy to pay shipping both ways to take them and convert to digital files, send the tapes back to you and to provide you with the digital copies that should last until Jesus comes. Think it over, let me know. In the meantime, keep up your awesome work, your newsletter, blog, vlog, is such a blessing each time I receive one. Take care.

    1. Hey Pastor Eric! Great to hear from you. I’m a little envious about that trip to get your car serviced. Listening to a PLW sermon would be a joy. As far as those tapes, they are stored away in a storage shed back in S.C., along with most of my library. One of these days I will settle down and hopefully start working through all those accumulated memories. Maybe we can share some of those sermons then. Blessings to you!
