A Prayer for Everyone

17 O God, You have taught me from my youth;
And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.
18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded,
O God, do not forsake me,
Until I declare Your strength to this generation,
Your power to everyone who is to come. Psalms 71:17-18

We all know that the sands of time are always falling, but it is good to occasionally be reminded that that hourglass we are ignoring is our own. We have a job to do until the last grain of sand drops to the bottom.

The ONE THING for today: If you are fortunate enough to live long enough, eventually this psalm will be your prayer. Pray it now.

  1. Excellent reminder, now that I am in the time of life spoken of in this Psalm. And yes, I prayed the prayer. Thanks for the suggestion! May it be true of me when I past from this life into eternity, that when the last grain falls, I am fulfilling the purpose that He gave me when I was born.
