I am Southbound on I-85. It’s important to me to blog everyday during this countdown to Good Friday. However, today has been a very hectic day, including a forever traffic jam on I-85. Then, I hate to admit it, but I had very little time for personal devotions this morning, which is when I write my blogs. But after almost an hour of sitting on the interstate I decided, why not write my blog while using my phone? Predictably just as I began to write the traffic began to move! So Sonja is typing as I dictate. So let’s hear it for Sonja! (😊).
Here’s my Good Friday thought… As I sat in the middle of all the stalled cars, frustrated, tired, wanting to get to my destination for the evening, my mind went to that busy day in Jerusalem when Jesus was bearing our cross, weary and worn and jostled by the crowd, ready to get to His destination – a hill called Golgotha. It reminded me that the cross and our Christian faith is grounded in real life; things like traffic jams, frustrated crowds, and deadlines to meet.
The ONE THING for today: that’s all I’ve got for today but it was enough for me and I pray it will be enough for you.
I have found that these times are really my best! Vulnerable, tense, and frustrated, which provides an atmosphere to see what I’m really like during these times! I had one of those times today! Was on MY mission and unexpectantly got called away. I was remined that these times are only temporal, so I stopped resisting and accepted this diversion and relaxed. That was today! Not sure about this next! Lol!

You are exactly right. When I stopped resisting and accepted the situation that’s when this blog was birthed in my mind. I guess you can stop and smell the roses even in a traffic jam! 🙂
