“If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me won’t amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, then ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference.” _Abraham Lincoln

One of the daily affirmations I speak to myself is: “I will withhold judgement until a judgement is absolutely required.”
Oh have I learned this the hard way!
Quick judgements, “gut feelings”, listening to just one side, getting caught up in the emotions of the moment, not tracing down who “they” actually were, not reading the footnotes and checking sources—these have led me wrong so many times.
Like those ole-fashion teachers and principals who used rulers and paddles (I am speaking from personal experience!), the pain of quick words and hasty decisions have taught me well.
“I will withhold judgement until a judgement is absolutely required.”
I shall practice humility.
I shall listen more and speak less.
I shall give the benefit of the doubt until proven conclusively wrong.
I shall do more research.
I shall wait.
I shall wait a little bit longer.
I shall reserve judgement until a judgement is absolutely, beyond a shadow of doubt, required.
For I have learned, all will be clearer later when…
Time will tell.
The ONE THING for today:
Don’t you tell, let time tell.
