Before you open that door

“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.” _Bilbo Baggins

One of my most important life principles is: I am always just one idea away or one relationship away from the next level.

But something I’ve also learned is: Getting better and growing into something new are not the same.

Getting better and growing into something new are not the same.

It is a great thing to always be striving to become better at who you are and at what you do, but it is also important to never stop pressing towards what is around the next corner.

Or put another way, you will never become all you can be by just getting better at what you already are.

Instead, you must be intentional about meeting new people, going to new places, and learning new things.

The ONE THING for today:

Getting better is like running on a treadmill, it helps prepare you for going somewhere but it is not actually taking you there.  That requires getting off the treadmill and going out the door and going somewhere you’ve never gone before.

  1. That’s a big Amen! Absolutely! I want to be all that I can be in Him who leads me on various adventures; the ones far off and the ones nearby.

    Blessings, Claudia D.
