Pot bound

Have you ever witnessed a plant that was pot bound?

It’s really a sad sight, and what is sadder is the unrealized potential of the plant.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people like that. They’re “pot bound”, trapped in the same old same old with little to no plans to change.

Oh, you can be comfortable in the same old pot. The comfortable and potential-choking pot demands little and lays no guilt trip on you. Matter of fact, it offers no trips, that would required change.

But like a Redwood seedling growing in a pot in your den, you were meant for so much more. So here’s the goal: Make 2021 the year that you change pots. (And no, I’m not talking about your irascible husband!)

  • Don’t be one of those people who spend most of their lives watching other people live exciting lives. Cut the television off and get out and do something exciting yourself.
  • Don’t be one of those people who spend hours a day watching the news, start making news. Volunteer, make a contribution, find a way to make the world a better place.
  • Don’t be one of those people who are always reposting what other people said and do. Read, study, travel, try new things until you have something worth saying and have done something worth talking about.

And here’s something to consider…

  • Maybe it’s time for some serious pot-changing. Maybe 2021 includes a new job or career, a relocate, or going out on your own.

I don’t know, these are decisions that you must make with a lot of prayer and wise counsel. But at least do the praying and seeking of advice.

One thing is for certain, any person serious about reaching their fullest potential and living life to the fullest will have a few “pot-changing” experiences along the way.

The ONE THING for today: Don’t be one of those people who spend their lives clutching for pennies when they could have gone for the gold. Make 2021 the year you go for something new, big, meaningful, and eternal.
