You are a busy person, let me cut to the chase…
The most important thing for you to do today is the most important thing today.
I can hear you say, “What?”
But read it again…slowly this time. Did you catch it?
Maybe you are one of those think-ahead persons already working on opportunities and obligations well into 2021, or maybe you are one of those live-in-the-moment persons juggling a dozen things on your to-do list for today and the list keeps getting longer.
Either way, life can be overwhelming.
Think-ahead people can burn out before they even get to the future they’ve worked so hard to plan by planning to much and to far ahead.
Live-in-the-moment people can miss the moment or get crushed in the moment by the sheer weight of things vying for their time and attention.
And then throw in the constant overload of noise pounding on our skulls: news, more news, and then more news, plus emails, texts, calls, social “calls” (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), and pretty soon the really important gets loss in the madness.
Here’s what to do, answer the following question: What is the most important thing that needs to be done today?
And then do it.
After that, no matter what else happens, you’ve taken care of the most important thing for the day. And here’s the good news, string together enough of those little wins and you end up being a winner.
The ONE THING for today: It’s not all important, and all the mostly important is not the most important. There is only one thing today that is most important — do it, do it asap, and enjoy the rest of your day.
A free story is below…

The Story of the house that needed to be painted
Once upon a time there was a man whose house needed painting but he was too poor to buy the paint. Miraculously, someone came along and brought him the paint. But then the man remembered his poor neighbors whose homes also needed to be painted. So, he watered down his paint so everyone can have some. Results: Nobody’s home was helped.
Often, we do the same. Each day is God’s gift to us but so often we water down our lives with too much and do not focus on the one thing we need to be doing.

That is so true Pastor Kemp that we so often water down our lives with too much.
Thank you for your wonderful wisdom!
