Unless you’re God, there will always be unintended consequences.
In a moment of inspiration, you may come up with the perfect solution, but, as you know, things happen.
Instead of listening to your perfect solution, some guy in accounting pipes up with what he believes to be the next world-changing idea, which was triggered from a conversation he had with a lady while waiting in line at the gas station the night before which she had heard from her neighbor who read about it on the home page of some “Facebook friend” she’s never met who lives in India.
And the next thing you know, your well laid plans are tabled, and your team is off to the races going in a direction that only God knows.
Life is funny like that.
Doctor’s call it “practicing” medical. Judges call it listening to all the evidence and making a “judgment.” Chef’s call it a recipe, and coaches call it a game plan.
But once the whistle blows, all bets are off.
The ONE THING for today: Control freaks are only fooling themselves. They’re not in control, they’re just freaks. Get used to living with ambiguity and unintended consequences. Joy is not found in planning the perfect trip; joy is found in taking the trip. Go for it and enjoy the dive!

So true.
