Jesus described the kingdom of heaven as being like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old (Matthew 13:52).
How preceptive (this should not surprise us; it was Jesus saying it after all).
Healthy ministry requires balance.
Pastor, be intentional about celebrating both the new and old in your church. Don’t let any one generation dictate how to “do church;” every generation needs each other.
Children’s church is good; having a youth service is a plus; “big church” or the “main service” is fine, but don’t forget, sometimes every generation needs to get in the same room. That’s your job and a sign that you are keeping house.
