It’ll be different “over there”

“Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” _Jesus, (John 16:33)

You must not lose sight of the fact that “where you are now” is not the only place which has trials and sorrows.

We are all prone to be infected with “destination disease” – the belief that “over there” things will be better.

That may be partly true. The trials and sorrows you may be currently experiencing because of where you are “here on earth” may not be “over there.”  But I promise you, when you get “over there,” “over there” will have its own set of trials and sorrows.

We live in a sin-cursed world; trials and sorrows come with the territory—all of it.

What makes the difference is knowing that wherever you are, Jesus is with you and because of him, eventually every trial and every sorrow will be dealt with victoriously.

• The ONE THING for today: Keep your focus on Jesus, not the trials and sorrows—He is where your hope, victory, and peace lay—not in a moving van and a new address.
