It’s the journey that matters…

Living in the moment is fine when things are going well.  And the truth is, at any given moment you could be doing very well.  On the other hand, you could also be doing pretty badly.

So remember, in the moments of this day, it is the journey, and finishing that journey, that matters.

Live in the moment by all means; don’t miss the treasures—a kiss from a lover or child, the smell of a new rose, or (forget the rose) the smell of fried chicken (!), and a dozen other special gifts of God’s grace.

And don’t forget, in the moments of pain, frustration, and failure, to treasure them also—as opportunities to learn, be a witness and inspiration to others.

But remember, it’s the journey that matters—remember this especially on those tough days and sad days.

In Christ, good-byes are not forever and failure is never final.

There’s a glorious ending to this journey and it will be worth every test and trial.  So keep the faith and look for the bright lights of our final destination.

Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV)

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
