Flowing & Exploding

John 13:3 (NKJV) Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,

Jesus—fully God, still submitted to the Father.

Beware of your tendency to rebel and resist authority.  Everyone—including you, needs to have someone over them whom they report to and are accountable to.

I’m not talking about submission “in theory” where you can draw an org. chart that shows where everyone fits in, I’m talking submission in practice where there is someone whom you report to regularly to seek their instructions and blessings.

Remember, the great sin is always rebellion.  Rebellion turns mighty and awesome angels into horrific and twisted demons and turns beautiful and innocent garden dwellers into fallen and depraved parents of the human race.

Authority flows; rebellion explodes.

God’s divine order, plan and blessings flow through the conduit of God-ordained authority.

When couples ignore this and children ignore this the family explodes.  When church members resist the authority of their pastors and elders and when the pastors and elders resist the authority of their Bishops and the Bishops resist the authority of their highest accountability, the plan of God is thwarted and even aborted for that organization.

The same is true for any organization or collective.

It’s a dangerous thing to be out there on your own.  Satan is always lurking nearby with a question that leads to an explosive rebellion.

  • The ONE THING for today: Follow Jesus’ example, seek out godly authority and follow them as they follow Christ.

1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV)

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
